  The wine red color is gorgeous. I liked this so much both for its appearance and for the soft fabric, that I planned to buy a couple more exactly like this in other colors. Then I asked my husband if he liked it. He said that the empire waist caused me to look slightly heavier than I usually do. I couldn’t see that when I looked in the mirror, but when I changed into slacks and a shirt I realized I did then look very slightly thinner. So if you want a dress that looks attractive and is comfortable, buy it. If you have our culture’s over obsession with looking as thin as you possibly can, you might not want an empire waisted dress that has a full skirt.
  The description said that it is machine washable, but the label on the dress says hand wash only. I plan to machine wash it anyway and hope for the best.
